Flexgrid does not support.

I was trying to look over an example of a calendar db which uses flexgrid.
On my PC (no win updates) it works great and yet on my laptop (completely
updated) it fails and spits out an error stating the it does not support this
object...

I went hunting on google to find the answer, and apparently MS in some
update did something that switched a kill bit (whatever that is).... So I
downloaded what I thought was the fix, but it doesn't work as it required VB6
to be installed...

Long story short, does anyone know how to get the example running again
(hopefully in plain english)? Is there a simple WinXP fix, not VB6?

perhaps simplest solution is to uninstall this update...
