Flash player

Wondering if anyone could help me with Flash Player.
I have IE7 but I'm not sure I need to update with the latest one and I see
links saying get new Flash often. Is Flash something a Microsoft product?

Flash is a product of Adobe Systems. You'd be wise to keep Flash
updated, since newer versions are more resistant to hacking.
