Hello,
When I attempt to open a Flash biuld link/page. I hear a click and nothing
happens.
window block is deactivated in IE and in Firewall (Norton).
I uninstalled the macromedia player and reinstalled.
The test avail on Macromedia web page works fine.
Other info- Page/link calls for a full screen display.
What should/can I do to resolve this problem ? Thanks.

Hi jean :)

First, disable the SP2 popup blocker, or any other popup blocker program you
may have.

Also.....try adding macromedia.com to your Trusted Sites in IE"
IE\Tools\Internet Options\Security tab....click on Trusted Sites\Sites
button

also..

If you have SpywareBlaster installed, be sure you have Kill Flash
UNchecked -

Open SpywareBlaster>Tools>Click on Flash Killer
UNcheck "Switch off Flash Player"
or in v3.1 UNcheck Disable and block Macromedia Flash (4X
5X & 6X) in Internet Explorer.

and...

Flash & Shockwave not working

A few of things could contribute to the problem. Have you checked your
firewall to see if the ad-blocker or Flash blocker is set to on or block?
Also, there are several Pop-up blockers that will block Flash unless you
turn it off. If you have any, check to see if they have a Kill Flash and be
sure it is disabled.
Some Flash has pop-ups and the blockers will see them as ads or and kill it
any way.

also...

Enable Flash in SP2

Internet Options> Advanced> Security> Check "Allow active content to run in
files on My Computer"

You will, of course, be giving up some of the security provided by SP2.

Sorry, it did not do it.
Performed all checks and set-ups. Did not however resolve the fact that this
new window does not open.

Any other suggestions.

Thanks Jean

Hi Jean :)

Then they this and see if it helps:

Make sure your Temporary Internet Files are emptied.

also....

Nothing happens when I click a link in IE

Go to Start>Run> and register the following dll's by using
regsvr32 command. Try the first 2, then see if it resolves the problem. If
not then register the rest of the .dll's:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll?
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll?
regsvr32 msxml.dll?
regsvr32 mshtml.dll?
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll?
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll?

If that doesn't work, then check out the following article and do the
additional steps outlined there:

You Cannot Open New Internet Explorer Window or Nothing Happens After You
Click a Link
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q281679

If still no joy:

Remove Flash, including all registry entries for it. Reboot then go to
Macromedia's site. Since it is Flash based you should get the dialog to
install Flash. Use the removal information at their site here:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/playerfaq.htm#remove

and.

If you have any type of Toolbar or 3rd Party program with an ad blocker,
disable it or uninstall it. Set your security to Medium if you have not
already done so. If you have Yahoo Companion, uninstall it.

Hope this helps :)

Likely means that you don't have MS Java installed.

Try intsalling the MS JAva or Sun Java and see if it helps:

Download MS Java here

or

or...

Download the J2SE 5.0 JRE here: It will work as well
