flash drive write proyected

I have a usb flash drive which has become write protected, not sure how it
happened.
Any help to remove the protection would be vey welcome. using XP home

Examine the drive carefully. The drives I've seen with the ability to
write-protect have a tiny switch, toggle, or button on them. See if
this is the case with yours.
