Hello everyone,
I have a 4GB Sandisk flash drive that I used to store and transfer
large documents that I downloaded from my office computer to home
computer (the office computer does not have a DVD burner)
The office computer now takes a looong time to `feel` the presence of
the flash drive (that did not happen in the first few weeks when I
used the flash drive on thatcomputer). Extremely slow data transfers
invariably end with I/O error messages.
That office computer does have USB 2.0 support and has no problems
with other USB drives; my flash drive has no problems with other
computers, either. They just don't like each other, for some reason.
The only thing I remembers is that, the first time I used the flash
drive on my office computer, there were some .sys or exe files, but I
deleted them, thinking that they were unnecessary. I can't say whether
the problems developed after I deleted that stuff.
Virus scans, chkdsk runs, etc. did not reveal any problems (I must
admit that the virus scan software was a campus-wide software that
some people find inefficient and useless)
If anyone has any idea, please reply to this message. Without a DVD
burner, I have no other practical means to carry large files around.
Best wishes for everyone,
Hurol Aslan
