Flash Drive Does NOT Show In Explorer

I am running XP PRO with all latest MS updates. My 1 Gb flash drive works in
other systems but not this one. When inserted it will show up in Device
Manager, but not in Explorer or Disk Manager. I have tested the USB ports
with other devices and all works fine. What can I do to resolve this?
Thanks in advance,
Barry

Did you assign it a drive letter?

Right click on My Computer, select Manage. On the following screen, click
on Disk Management. On the right hand side, assign it a drive letter.

The drive does not appearin Disk Management so I can't assign it a letter.
Device manager does show it as working properly.

Same issue. I have a internal card reader that has worked fine for months.

Now when I put in a SD card Windows doesn't see any media inserted.

My card drives show up in Explorer, Device Manager says everything is OK.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the card reader but still no joy. The
card is functioning fine on other PCs.

Only change is I switched from one USB printer (HP 97xx) to a Konica 2400W
laser printer. Uninstalled the old print driver then installed the new one.
New printer works fine.
