Flash and Java shut down Internet

Everytime I play a java or flash game, I get an error
message and it shuts down the internet explorer. After
that, if I re-open the explorer, I can still browse the
web, but I cannot view any flash or java sites at all. I
have to re-start the computer in order to make it work
again, and then it only works temporarily until it shuts
itself down again. It never shows me what is in the box
that tells you what the error is either. It's not the
typical box for the internet explorer errors either. It is
the one when there is an error in windows. It is the white
box with either close or ignore as options. I have re-
installed flash and java twice, but this has not remedied
the problem. I am running Windows ME on my computer. Any
help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It is possible you may have parasites on your system causing the problem.
Download, install, update the programs to be sure they have the latest
definitions, then run the programs below. They are free and very effective.
Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does not detect the
other may. Follow the directions carefully:

SpyBot Search & Destroy: Free

AdAware: Free

I've downloaded and installed the latest versions of both
java and flash 2 times. I also have both adaware and
spybot which I run about once every week or 2. I still
have the problem though. I'm not sure what else to do
about it. I fear that it might be a problem with windows
rather than with internet explorer. Any response would be
appreciated. Thanks.

You might also be a good idea to install the latest version of Microsoft
Virtual Machine if you have not yet done that.

That is the only ohter thing I can think of at the moment. Perhaps someone
else might have other ideas that will help.
