Flag questions

1) in the phone list view, is there a way to group flags by color? I cick on
the field to sort, but it simply puts all the flags at the top, but does not
sort them by color. I have them coded red for appts, yellow to call back,
etc, and it makes it a lot easier to follow than typing 'appointment" or
choosing 'call back' in the flag flollow-up field.

2). Is there a way to name each colored flag? So that if I choose a yellow
flag, it says call back, etc.

thanks

Don't know about the first, but there is a workaround for the second.

Create a new Toolbar. Then populate it with the flags. Rename them and
there you go.

Ok, I'm not having much luck, unfortunately. The toolbar won't work in the
contact list for some reason.
Really what I want to get to is a visual (colored-flag) sort of my contacts
so I know who to follow up with, and how. Is it possible then to
1) customize my follow-up flag field so that the pull-downs say what I want
them to (i.e. appointment, bring by brochures, mail etc), and
2) Create a macro that adds a colored flag? For instance, I pull-down
brochures from the flag menu, and it adds a purple flag to those, a yellow
flag for call, etc?
That way I would be able to sort by follow-up field, the colored flags would
automatcially be in place, and I would have a qucik visual of what needs to
be done.
This might be a question for the VBA board, not sure.

Also, is it possible to custom format a column? For instance give
everything in the field a blue background.
Thanks

RV - did you manage to do this? if so, I'd love to know how - it sounds like
something I could also use...

Thanks,
Leah
