Fixing (laptop) hard drives info.

I have some fujitsu laptop hard dirves (MHM2200at) that according to
the manufacturers diagnostic software, they are no ok and have some
error messages codes.

The manufacturer explained me the meaning of those error codes, some
mechanical, read/write error, pre-smart error. They are out of
warranty so they can't help. They were supposed to be made for a
country other than the USA.

I have the following questions:

Any basic info about how to fix laptop hard drives? From what I've
read on postings, there are some things you can do like changing some
circuitry and others you can't like stuff that requires a clean room.

Any basic info as well is greatly appreciated.

Any hope for them (other than paperweights)?

thanks in advance

No.

If it is pre-SMART mechanical, just get a new drive and copy the data.
Do this very soon. There is no cost-effective way to repair such
a disk. However there is expensive data recovery if you wait too long.
