Fixed window too small, dual monitor computer

My Win2000 PC is displaying fixed windows in too small of
a box cutting off information within the window.
Norton Antivirus uses a fixed window while scanning, but
my computer is only displaying part of the window because
the box is too small. Since it's a fixed window, it can't
be grown to see the missing information.
Any ideas what causes this, how to fix, or if there is a
knowledge base report on this (What do I search for)?

Usually caused by crappy programming on the part of the application
programmer and is solved locally by changing the screen resolution to
accommodate the "window" text size. In other words your choices are
increase the resolution setting,
live with it,
or
use different software
