fixed width (monospace) fixedsys unicode font

Hello,

I'd like to have fixed width (monospace) unicode fonts, preferably
fixedsys for fixed with applications like putty. These applications
apparently do not take true type scalable fonts (I tried to instsall
fixedsys excelsior but this doesn't appear in the font selection
of applications which require fixed width fonts).

Any help much appreciated.
