on my index page I would like to have my background picture be "fixed" and
the text to move over it. A friend told me to use <bgproperties="fixed"> in
the added to the <body> that works great on my computer in the preview but
when I publish my site for some reason my site does not keep the background
fixed. (it scrolls also) Is there a command in frontpage I don't know html
and am quite new at all of this. thank you.

In normal mode right click and click Page Properties. Then click the tab that
says background. Check Watermark. That will make your background fixed.

on all my pages except the home page, when I do the right click then go to
page properties I have an option for format and the watermark is there but on
the home page I do not have the format option. I have a faded picture in the
background currently. I tried to remove it and it won't do that either. By
the way I just upgraded from 2000 version to the 2003 verson will that make a
difference on any of this?

I do not find any background tab when doing this. I do see under format the
watermark under background but I do no have the format tab on my home page
and that is the one that I want to change. now what? I don't know if it makes
any difference but I just updated from the 2000 version to the 2003 version.

You would normally not have the tab, if you have a theme applied, do you have a theme applied to
your home page?

Are you using a theme?
If so the page properties are controlled by the theme
Modify the Theme to add the "watermark" style:
Format | Theme | Modify | Text - select More Text Styles
Select the body tag and then Modify | Border | Shading and select
Repeat - select no-repeat
Attachment - select fixed
Vertical Position - select center
Horizontal Position - select center
OK|OK|OK|OK & Save As a new theme name

I understand what you are saying BUT my 2003 version does not take me where
you say. when I click on format it just brings up a window on the right side
of the screen none of the options or tabs you talk of are there. is something
turned off? I still am just trying to solve my orignal problem, of fixing the
background. thank you. mark

thank you for the help. We are getting close. I tried the customize and it
seems it will not let me do the water mark. when I select no theme then go to
the page and go to page propertys it lets me add the picture / watermark and
it does just what I want. Now how do I add my theme back without loosing the
background watermark?

And?
How did you publish - using FP in http mode?
If so open the online site in FP and reapply the new theme
If not "upload" your new theme folder
