Fix problem with 511974.MAINSP3ff.msp file missing

I recently had to do a restore and have since encountered the problem with
missing file 511974.MAINSP3ff.msp missing and cannot find a way to fix it.
I am using Windows XP and Office 2007.

Windows XP's System Restore is known to cause issues with the local
installation source of Office 2003/2007. Have you tried uninstalling all
Office components (would include things like Visio viewer) and reinstall
Office 2007 plus whatever service packs and security hotfixes that are
needed?

I appreciate the response, but I have tried all this 3 times, removed all
the programs
updated all of windows updates, removed service pack 2 & 3 and reinstalled
them along with all the security patches, installed new version of windows
installer from MS and restored the computer to two (2) earlier dates before
the problems started.
Nothing has helped and the computer is running verrrrry slow. Any other
suggestions?

There is no such thing as an Office 2007 SP2 or SP3. The only service pack
available for Office 2007 is service pack 1.

In any event, you must have something installed from an earlier version of
Office. The most likely thing is Office Web Components as the msp file
suggests that it could be a compent from Office XP (aka Office 2002) that
was updated/patched by Office XP Service Pack 3. If items are no longer
listed in add/remove programs, then you might try the Windows Installer
Cleanup utility
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301&Product=offxp
to strip/remove office components and then try installing Office 2007 again.
