Fix post error when checking Notify me of replies

G

Guest

Last time I posted and most of the times before that I got an error saying
something failed. I check the notify me of replies.

When I posted without that option checked I got no error.

I do get notifications and the post is posted so it does work but since it
is giving an error many seem do think their post was not posted and reposts.

Suggestion, make sure notify me of replies does not display error when it
actually works.

When posting this message with notify checked I got this misleading message.

An error occurred while sending your post

This is a known bug in the web-based newsreader. Try using the Windows Mail
newsreader if it annoys you.

I have tried to find out if this was known or not. How did you?

The web-based reader is not annoying but I would like that others does not
think their post did not get through and post again resulting in duplicates.

My intent is to help others not posting duplicates.

It is not unique to the links in Vista. Anyway, all you have to do is
browse the Vista newsgroups to see the thousands of duplicate posts, in some
cases as many as six, due to users re-posting thinking that their posts
failed. If you want you can use the Feedback icon to send feedback to MS on
it, but I assure you it has been reported, noted, comment on, cursed, and
generally known about.

I would like it to remember me. I have that checked but still have to sign in
every time.
