firing noise in wmp11

itunes playes my music fine. so its clear nothing wrong with my sound
device. when i play mp3 in wmp11 it only starts some irritating machine gun
firing sound. i have no clue what could be wrong. i have to installed any
plugins and wmp11 is set to be my default media player.

I'm having exactly the same problem. Can work it out, they were playing fine
one day - then just stopped with that firing noise. You managed to sort it
yet?
