firewall

i try to turn off firewall on my windows xp but i cant
seem to do it. i read places where they tell me to go
into properties of my connection and click advance but i
dont see advance anywhere. all i see is general and
authentication

What type of network connection is it? Some, like AOL connections,
network bridges, or connections that are part of a network bridge
don't have an Advanced tab.
