Hi,

I have quite alot of settings in the built-in xp firewall.
I need to make a new connection and use the same settings, however,
firewall settings are per connection.
Is there a way to copy the firewall settings from one connection to another ?

Thanks,
Marius.

I didn't think there WERE any setting - AFAIK it's "On" or "Off"

What settings??

Hi,

I mean the firewall configuration. Ports that I wish to open.
On the "Advanced" window in the connection properties,
where you turn the firewall on or off, there's a "settings"
button. When you press it you get to the "services" tab,
there you can control which port do you wish to open.

Thanks.

You probably don't want any of those ports open.

Hmmm... What port(s) would I want open so that Neotrace can work properly
with WinXP's firewall activated, I wonder?

I'd advise doing what I've done under similar circumstances - take a pen, a pad of paper, and make a careful list for referring to during setup of the other connection.

Personally I prefer Norton Personal Firewall, it's easier to user and
more flexible.

I'd suggest renaming this group to microsoft.public_bad.jokes, but
someone would make a joke out of this either.
