Firewall keeps turning off for brief periods of time

Is there a way to find out what keeps turning off the built in firewall? I
run Vista and get the warning every so often that the firewall is turned
off. It usually goes right back on in a moment. Ideas? Thanks....

I don't know what may cause brief "blackouts", but viruses are known to
disable Firewall as one of their FIRST actions on their destrructive path.
However as I said, they turn it off permanently.

I am not sure if any virus would want to turn off & on briefly, so it's not
likely to be a virus.
Maybe someone else will add to this response....

Ah, the joys of running Vista! You're infected and it's time to
reinstall Vista or move up to an operating system that doesn't have that
kind of problem. I would recommend Ubuntu. Get it free at
www.ubuntu.com. Not only is it free, it comes with access to thousands
of free programs.

You have reading comprehension problems. The OP asked about her firewall
and you provide completely useless information. You suggest that she ditch
Windows and the applications she uses to run that INFERIOR Ubuntu piece of
shit that NOBODY wants.

What an IDIOT. A certifiable idiot you are. No wonder you use Ubuntu. You
have no brains.

Just FYI.

One thing for sure. I'll bet they all know how to set their PCs clock. If
you look at the time posted, I am sure everyone but you ****TARD has the
correct time.

Too bad you don't know how to change your ****ing clock. I suggest calling
tech support and maybe they can walk you through the process. It really
isn't that bad.

Someone with your limited knowledge just might be able to do it with hand
holding.

Give it a try

Listen, you have to add Alias to blocked list, despite him being
entertaining at times.
At first I found him informative, but there's a saying it takes time to
discern a true Spammer/Troll, from someone simply being overly
enhtusiastci - which I can be also, sometimes.

He is a true Spammer.
Stop wasting a lif eon reading his posts, life is short. Even if you're 20,
you;re half-way to 40, remember... 3x times that much, and most people are
"done" (not my familiy genes which are known for longevity).
So wjy would you spend even 10 seconds on reading UboonToo Troll???

Maybe you should call your psychiatrist and schedule a session. Make sure
to look at a clock that is correct.

Yes, it runs daily and shows ok. I use AVG. I'm wondering if the firewall
gets turned off briefly while it checks for an update or while one of my
other programs is checking for an update?
