Firewall configuration

My Windows XP Pro Machine is a development machine and after downloading SP2
most of my development goes to hell.

1. ASP.NET Application
- Our Website is an ASP.NET application and after the install
ASP.NET stopped responding on the local machine when right before the update
it was working. All I get now are 404 error for all of our pages.
2. Visual Studio 2003
- In conjuction to the above, our web application is compiled with
VS 2003, but since the site is down now VS 2003 does not work either.
3. SQL Server
- I tried opening the port for SQL Server thinking that this might
be the issue, but without success either.

I assume that a lot of developers like myself will be encountering this
issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.
