Muzammal Ahmed

Hi,
I've Windows XP Pro on my two computer and they're
networked. They shart printer, broadband internet
connection and files among each other. The problem is
that when I made the internet connection FIREWALLED, it
no more shares the printer. I don't know what should I do
to make these computers share printer again.
Please help me out...
Thanks

You can enable or disable XP's Internet Connection Firewall
independently on each network connection.

If a network connection connects directly to the Internet (dial-up
modem, cable modem, DSL modem), enable ICF on that connection to
protect your computer from access by other Internet users. It will
also stop the unwanted advertisements (messenger pop-ups).

If a network connection connects indirectly to the Internet (through
another computer or a broadband router), don't enable ICF on that
connection. On a local area network connection with other computers,
ICF blocks file and printer sharing.

So, for example, on an ICS host computer with a cable modem
connection:

1. Enable ICF on the cable modem connection.
2. Disable ICF on the local area network connection.
