Firefox problem

I downloaded and installed Firefox 1.0.4 over 1.0.3 this morning and now I
can't get Firefox to run properly. Let me explain:

Firefox loads okay, but I can't see anything on the page. Not even the
drop-down menus. I can see File, Edit, View, etc., but not the drop-down
menus. If I right-click on the blank page and select "View Page Source" it
shows my current/correct Start Page. All the buttons on the toolbar work,
but if I click on "New Tab", the new page opens, but I can't see the new tab
(I know it's there because when I exit Firefox, it asks if I want to close
multiple tabs).

I've tried reinstalling 1.0.4 twice and even tried reinstalling 1.0.3 (which
had been working flawlessly), but nothing changes -- the menus and pages are
blank (even though they are there). I really don't want to uninstall FF
before reinstalling it because then I'll have to reinstall all of the
extensions.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I think the first thing to try is running it in safe mode,
<http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode>. If it works in safe mode, I'd
try re-enabling the extensions one at a time to see if one of them is
causing a problem.

No you won't.

I uninstalled 1.03 before installing 1.04, and the extensions stayed.

If the profile is now hosed, which is very likely the case given what
he's posted, he may well have to start with a fresh one and reinstall
all the extensions.

Whew! Finally got it running. I uninstalled Firefox, leaving the folder
intact and reinstalled Firefox, but it still wouldn't run. So I
uninstalled Firefox and renamed the old folder and let the next installation
create a new folder. Rebooted after installation and it works fine (even
the extensions are still there).

Thanks Dan and >>Q<< !
