FoxyVoice is a Firefox extension that provides text-to-speech functionality
using Microsoft Win32 Speech API (SAPI).
You can use FoxyVoice by clicking on its icon, located on the
status bar. When you left click on the icon, it starts reading the entire
page. FoxyVoice also works on selected text.

It is only 28 KB and works well here, on Xp Home SP2 and Firefox/0.10.1

Thanks for the information Maria.
This extension looks especially very useful for users suffering from
sight problems.
