firefox and QuickTime Alternative

Hi

Have recently started using Firefox and so far so good...one thing I cant do
is get it to use QuickTime Alternative to open .mov files. Instead Firefox
prompts me to get Apples Quick Time.

Due to the invasive nature of the latter program this is something I don't
want to do. anyone know of a way to get Firefox to recognise QT Alternative
as my .mov file player of choice?

You might try reinstalling Quicktime Alternative (the newest version)
after uninstalling the older version. If you already had Quicktime
Alternative installed when you put Firefox on your system, that might be
why the plugin isn't installed properly.

I use Firefox and QuickTime Alternative along with the
MediaPlayerConnectivity 0.3.7 extension, and can play .mov files with no
problem. I just tested this on the Quicktime website. Instead of the
movie playing in the embedded screen, Media Player Classic launches and
shows the film clip.

What level of FFox are you on?

Thanks for the suggestion, John. Did as you suggested and now QTA works fine
in Firefox.

Chrissy - what version QTA are you using? If it's earlier than 1.47 you may
need to upgrade. 1.47 includes support for FFox.

*ahem* It worked for me or I wouldn't have mentioned it.

Actually, I misread and thought you were talking about QT not QTA which I
am gonna try right off. I am on QT 6.7x, the latest.

Maybe check the file associations? Do you have 'everything' checked in
IrfanView?
What do you have selected as your default audio? Personally, I don't like
QT...
and use it ONLY when nothing else willl work. I haven't tried QTA..yet,
don't know
that I will.

Good thoughts, I'll go look to see.
