Finding My Export Spec

Title pretty much says it all. The previous database owner created some
specs for use with transfertext but I have no idea how to find them.

Worst case I'll just re-create them but better to find them.

In what way are they lost? If you start the Text Import (or Export)
Wizard, can't you click the Advanced... button on the wizard's dialog,
and then click the Specs... button on the Import Specification form to
see a list of all the import/export specifications?

Perhaps the root of my problem is that I can't find the Import / Export
Wizard...

Start with File -> Get External Data -> Import..., choose "Files of
type: Text Files", and pick any text file to start the wizard.

I do this and no wizard starts. In fact, nothing happens, no error or
message, it just returns me to the DB window.

Hmm. Try reregistering the file "accwiz.dll". The following
instructions are from a previous post by John Nurick:

<quote>
To re-register a DLL file,

1) Locate it (usually all these are in the Windows\System32 or
WINNT\System32 folder.

2) Locate the file regsvr32.exe.

3) Drag the DLL file's icon onto the regsvr32.exe icon.

</quote>

If that doesn't work, I'd try repairing your installation of Access.

I was sorta thinking along the same lines, so while I was waiting for your
response I ran office update and patched my office to SP2. This solved the
problem without needing to re-register. Thanks!

Great! And it's usually a good idea to have your patches up to date.
