finding downloads

just downloaded a golf course for links. can't find it
now. help me please.

If you know what kind of file you downloaded (if you don't know, return to the download site and check the file type) open Windows Explorer and do search for that file type and see if it comes up.

Hi

You can find the default download directory from the Registry - **but please make sure that you don't actually alter anything**. If you open the Registry Editor - Start>Run - then type regedit - navigate to the following:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

In the right hand pane have a look at the value of 'Download Directory'.

Close the Registry Editor.

For XP don't you mean Start Search.
Removing Search from Windows Explorer was one of the dumb things IMO.

If you do not want to go into your registry, just go back on the internet
and find a file to download {the one you have lost or any other}. Select
Save. When the download starts, you will get a message box asking where to
save the file. The message box will display the last folder you use to save
a download. Make a note of that folder. Then cancel the download.

Now go to that folder in Run, Browse or Windows Explorer. Your golf course
file should be there.
