I have a document with some special hidden characters that show up as blank
squares. I want to get rid of these put a normal Search and Replace doesn't
work. I know the ASCII code for the character is 07, but I tried ^7 and ^07
and that doesn't work either. Anyone have any ideas??

MS Word? 2003? I'll guess. Choose Replace from the Edit
dropdown menu. Click on the More button near the bottom of
the dialog box to expand it. Click on the Special
(character) button on the expanded dialog box and select
the character that you want to find...

The problem is I don't know what special character it is. I have tried all of
the ones listed and it's not any of those.

If the ASCII code is 7, then you will need ^007 or ^0007, I believe. See
"WD97: Control Codes to Use with Find and Replace (Edit Menu)" at
