Find & Replace

I am attempting to replace all of a certain type of font within a document to another font. I have set the "find what" and "replace with" with the appropriate fonts and they appear below each of those boxes. What wildcard do I insert in the boxes (or is there another technique?) so that all text in that font will be replaced. Thanks for your help.

The find and replace function seems to be coming back with "selection not found" whether or not I leave the boxes empty and I know that format exists within the document. What could I be doing incorrectly? Thanks.

Hard to say
Try it as a wildcard search for <*>
replace with ^&
but this shouldn't be necessary
I have tested it with the searched font in styles and manually formatted and
I have not found an instance where the original suggestion did not work.

Hi ST,

What font was it that you were looking for?
And what version of Word do you use?

Word may have some problems looking for symbol fonts ("decorative" fonts),
especially if the symbols had been inserted from the "Insert > Symbol"
dialog.

In Word2002/2003, you could also use the "Styles and formatting" pane to
select all text that is formatted in some way, instead of "Find/Replace".
"Tools > Options > Edit > Keep track of formatting" has to be checked for
that to work.

Greetings,
Klaus
