In a powerpoint presentation, how can I generate or view a list of embedded
graphics or images?

Easiest way is probably to do a "File", "Save as" and save it as a web page.
This way you get a folder of all embedded files.

In a powerpoint presentation, how can I generate or view a list of embedded
graphics or images?

It's fairly simple to get a list like this in VBA but the results might not be
what you expect. Rather than spin wheels and make smoke and end up with
something that doesn't do what you want it to, what DO you want it to do?

Typically, you'd get something like:

Slide 1
Picture 1
Picture 2
Picture 3

and so on
