Find does not look at all numbers

I attempted to search my contact list using the last 4 digits of a contact's
phone number. Outlook 2007 did not find the number, but the contact was
there. The number was stored in the "Other" field. Searching for the last 4
digits of phone numbers in other fields works just fine.

Do not abuse the suggestions feature to post questions that are simply end
user error.

I'm sorry. I honestly thought that the purpose of releasing a beta
version of a product was to encourage suggestions from the user base. I
guess I'll take my spanking and stick with more reliable open-source
products and their much more friendly support forums.

You are confused. You were not posting a suggestion. The feature you asked
for already exists in every version of Outlook and you simply haven't
discovered how to use it. You were posting a question, not a suggestion.
Had you posed the question in the proper forum with enough detail for us to
tell what you are doing wrong, we could help. Until you do, we can't.

I was simply pointing out that the search feature you thought didn't exist
does exist and if you need to understand how to use it, you must post a
question that helps us understand why you can't get it to work.

Version: Outlook 2007, Version 12, Build 4017
In Contacts, Switch to Address Cards view.
Create a new contact record.
Enter the full name, email address.
Enter a full home address. Click the box next to "This is the mailing
address".
In the Phone Numbers section, mark the first field as Business, but
leave the phone number blank.
Mark the second field as Home and enter a phone number.
Mark the third field as Other and enter a different phone number (Note
the last 4 digits.)
Mark the fourth field as Mobile and enter a different phone number.
Save and close the contact record.
Using either the address books search box or the quick search from the
Contacts title bar, enter the last 4 digits of the "Other" number you
entered and press Enter.
Does it find the contact?
