Find and open a file

Is there to create a cmd button that will find and open a specific file on
my computer? The file is not another database but either a Word document or
Snapshot file. So it would have to open another application and then the
file.

To find the file, take a look at http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0001.htm
at "The Access Web"

Once you know the file, you can use the FollowHyperlink method to launch it,
or you can use the Shell function (assuming you know what executable needs
to be launched), or you can use the ShellExecute API call. See
http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0018.htm for details on the third method.
