Finally looking at getting Vista

S

I rebuilt my home PC last year and had continued to use XP. My home PC
uses an Intel DG31PR motherboard with 2 GB of RAM. I am using XP Pro
32Bit and would like to get a Vista Ultimate, set up in a dual-boot.

My Question:

I only see Vista Ultimate for sale in the store. It does not state if
it is 32Bit or 64Bit.

Does the Vista Ultimate box let the "user" select either 32Bit or
64Bit versions, at time of install?

The retail, boxed version of Windows Vista Ultimate includes two (2) DVD
discs.
One disc is for installing the 32-bit version and the other the 64-bit
version.
You can install the version you desire but not both.

You mean "may", not "can".

My retail Windows Vista Ultimate states right on the package "32- and
64-bit". I'm sure all of the packages do.

No - he means "can" not "may". If he meant "may" he would have said "may".

Then he's wrong and ill informing posters behind the MVP badge because
one "can".

There you go, lying again in a vain attempt to make yourself look better

why don't you install win7 beta and try it. Beats the socks off of Vista
from what I have seen so far. You can use it free until august

If you have money to waste, go for it. Vista has no advantages over XP
and plenty of disadvantages.

Why bother? Windows 7 is alleged to be released this year.....I would wait
for that...

Not recommended... even IF it's stable and has no problem.

WHY? Because when it expires, it can't be registered. The final
release will have to be installed and all the work put into the beta
installation will be for naught... except to find out what works with
it and what doesn't.

-----And if we are going to get picky over the proper use of the
English language Alia, you should know what you are talking about. You
are obviously not much of a grammarian yourself, in that the above
sentence should read "better than I", "not better than me".

I don't lie and that was a mistake, yes. It still doesn't make you any
less of a liar and you're still a piss poor excuse for a human being.
