Is there any news on when a final version may be distributed?

I am imaging some new PCs and want to know if it's a good idea to include
Anti-Spyware with the image.

Will this product remian free? Are there any plans to
make this a paid service or wrapped up with a suite of
application that one must purchase like Office?

Yes and Yes.

Bill Gates stated that the capabilities we are testing will be available
without additional cost to Windows customers.

They've also announced this new product offering:

So--one way in which Antispyware capabilities will be offered is part of a
new, subscription based, suite.

What the other, no additional cost, way will be, we don't know yet.
