Is there a way to only us the auto filter on specified columns????

Do you mean that you don's see the other arrows ?

If they're contiguous, you can select the columns you want to filter and
select auto filter.

Here is an example of what I mean. I have data in columns A-D, but only want
a filter on A and C. Is this possible . . . or do I have to have auto filter

You have to filter from A:C (you can ignore D if you want).

But you need to use some code to hide the arrow in column B. The link that Ron
posted to Debra's site has some sample code.
