Filtering junk email with HTML format

Is there a way to filter out junk email that has HTML
format? Almost all spam is coming in HTML format now and I
can't find a setting in Outlook 2002 to filter out these
types of junk mail. Thanks!

Tim,
You would have to have a third party package, I use Trend
eManager which works with Trend ScanMail, with that you
can scan email body and attachments if you want. Not too
expensive though if you are only asking for personal
computer then you should find other products since this
is server-based.

Somebody told me about a free Program called "Hotmail
Popper" which I believe acts like a POP3. Haven't figured
it out yet, but it might be your solution, assuming the
rules will work with a POP3 account. Here's a cut & paste
of what the guy said about it in response to a question I
had about multiple Hotmail accounts. Hope it helps.

"If you have more than one Hotmail account and you want
to use Outlook to
poll all of them, use Hotmail Popper. It runs as a local
HTTP-to-POP3
protocol converter proxy. It's free. You define a POP3
account in your
e-mail client, it connects via POP3 to Hotmail Popper,
and Hotmail
Popper connects to Hotmail. In you have N Hotmail
accounts then define
N POP3 accounts for Hotmail.

Because you are creating POP3 accounts instead of
HTTPmail accounts, and
because Outlook aggregates all POP3 accounts into the one
Inbox folder
in your default information store, all your Hotmail
messages will get
merged into the one Inbox. If you want to separate them,
use a rule to
test on the account through which the e-mail gets
received to move them
to specific folders.

With Hotmail Popper, you can configure it to only yank
messages from
your Hotmail Inbox or you can include other Hotmail
folders. Whether
including other folders or not, you can choose to include
or exclude the
bulk (Junk) folder so you don't have to bother
downloading or even
seeing the suspect messages in your e-mail client.

I have asked the author to for an enhancement that will
empty the bulk
(Junk) folder on exit (where exit means leaving the
Hotmail session).
YahooPOPs has this feature. On every mail poll from your
e-mail client,
YahooPOPs connects, gets your e-mail, and optionally
empties out the
Bulk folder. This is handy to keep your webmail account
from going dead
because of the swen worm or other reason for your quota
to get used up.
The author replied but I don't know what priority my
request will get."
