Filtering for specific meeting dates in calendar

I want to see all the meetings/appointments that I went to in a given wee.
I'm using the category view since I'm grouping them by category and trying to
apply a filter but the recurring meetings seem to throw off the results. I
want to see only the one occurence of the recurring meeting show up and it
show what day I was in that meeting. I've tried create date, modified date,
start date and end date and none seem to work. Shouldn't there be another
date type associated with the actual occurence of a specific recurring
meeting?

recurring appointments use the recurrence pattern but I'm not sure there's a
way to use it in this scenario.
