I have a filter set up. Every time I click one of the
drop down lists to select a sub-set Excel saves my
spreadsheet with the new selection set. What is going on?
 
What happens when you click the dropdown list? Do you see a message that
says Excel is saving the file?

What version of Excel are you using?
