Is there a way to delete filtered rows without deleting the unfiltered
rows.

Hi

Work on a COPY of your data first time - just in case!

Select the rows that have been filtered by choosing the row numbers at far
left> right click>Delete

No, it doesn't work. This was possible in Office 1997, but not since
Office 2003.

Hi

It does work in XL2003 9and all earlier versions)
In XL2007, you need to ensure that you have selected a cell within the
table, before you make the selection by dropdown.

I found the solution on a website. If you select the filtered rows,
press F5, click Special, tick "Visible cells only", click OK and then
delete.

in Excel 2003
select all filtered area
Edit->GoTo->Special->Select visible cells
then Delete
