Film unnoticed/stuck in LS-30?

Hello all,

After some help from this group, I've been messing around with an old
LS-30.

I have discovered that with a certain set of Fuji slide film - I think
it might be Sensia - the scanner just doesn't see it. Triggering an
Eject from either Vuescan or NikonScan has no effect and I have to
reboot the scanner.

(I use the SA20 motorised strip adaptor for colour & B/W negs and
colour transparency. In fact and to be honest, I'm not really sure what
the FA-20 is for - neg scans seem to be fine with the SA-20.)

This is the only film I have noticed this on. Its not a huge big deal
but does anyone have any ideas of a workaround or what might be causing
this?

Cheers,
cam

Guessing, but have you selected the correct film type before inserting
it? If the scanner is looking for high contrast sprocket holes on black
unexposed film and only sees low contrast sprocket holes on light
unexposed film then it might miss it.

FA-20? Some Eastern European markets have the FH-2 marked as an FH-20,
but I haven't seen an FA-20.

Assuming this is the 6 frame film strip holder, it is useful in the
following situations:
the film is too curled to feed into the SA-20 or lay flat for focus
the film strip is too short to feed into the SA-20 - 2 frames minimum
the subject area is too closely cropped at the edges to fit in the
smaller aperture of the SA-20 (23.3mm wide, instead of the required
24mm)
