Filling half a circle

P

I'm hoping this can be done.
Am using powerpoint for football plays and need to fill in half a circle to
represent shades.

The fill tool fills the whole circle...is there an easy way to fill only
half.

If you go to More Autoshapes on the Autoshape toolbar, you'll find a shape
called Pie Slice (it has a quarter cut out of it). You can use the yellow
diamond to adjust the shape to your size and then fill it with whatever color
you want.

Begin with a different Autoshape. Draw an Arc (basic shapes, under the
heart shape), drag one of the yellow adjustment handles until the arc
resembles a half circle. Select fill color.

PCE,
Not an easy way I'm afraid, you could go about it in different ways. One way
would be to create a pie graph with two identical values, that will give you
a circle with two colors. Then ungroup the graph, you may have to do that
several times. Delete what you do not need, select the half that needs to
have no color and choose no fill.
I know not quite straight forward.
Another way would be to draw two arcs from the AutoShapes and adjust them
with the yellow handle to form 1/2 of a circle, give one a fill and leave
the other one empty.

You might also want to look at the shape called chord in the same location as
Linda's idea. It adjusts in a slightly different way so between them you
should be able to get what you need

Thanks for all the reply's.
None are workable fixes so I'll continue to copy and paste from a graphics
program.
