On my Dell notebook 5150 with 15" screen, certain web
pages leave about 2 inches of blank space on the right
margin. www.nytimes.com is one that does this. Is there a
way to set the browser to fit the webpage to the screen?
Thanks for any help.

I think that what is happening is that the designer set the first column
(the one with the menu) to expand with the user's default font size, and set
the rest of the page to a constant width. Indeed, if you narrow the browser
window enough, or if you increase your default font size enough, you will
find that the right side of the page is cropped off: you have to scroll
right to see it. Poor design, probably by someone obsessed with making web
pages look like printed pages.

It's the way the page is coded. Nothing you can do about it.
