Filling a Custom Drawn Shape

Guest

Hi,
I'd like to draw a custom shape in Illustrator, and import it into PPT, and
still be able to use the Fill Effects option to fill with a photo. Is this
possible? I'm using PPT 2003, running on Windows 2000.

ppt diva,

yes it's possible.

either copy and paste-special the shape into powerpoint

or export as an 'enhanced windows metafile' from illustrator.

insert this into powerpoint

using
insert menu> picture >from file

ungroup it using the 'draw' menu

then format menu > format object > fill > fill effect > picture > find your
picture > ok

cheers
