Fillin Fields

I have a document that uses Fillin fields. How can I make it so everytime
the document is opened the user is prompted automatically for the Fillin
fields? At the moment I have to select the entire document and force an
update using F9.

I know I could do this with a macro but is there any other way? Am sure in
Word V6 they updated automatically when the document was opened.

If the document is to be refilled every time it is opened, save it as a
template and create new documents from it. The prompt will pop up on
document creation.

I posted the same question one moment ago and then I noticed your answer to
this posting.

I did what you suggested but here is my problem:

If I open the template through Explore then the fillin question prompts
appear but if I open the file through the File open command in word, the
fillin questions prompts don't appear.

I want the fillin question prompts to appear when I open the document though
word as well.

Thanks for your help.

Don't open a template to fill it in, this destroys your template. Instead,
create a new document based on the template and automatically trigger your
fields.
File > New
This is how templates are designed to be used.
