Fill with Picture

I'm trying to fill a basic shape with a photo ... (using a rectangle with
rounded corners) however, it doesn't fill to the edges - I end up with white
space on all 4 sides. Now matter how small or large I make the shape, the
image won't fill to the edges. Does anyone know a work around. Is it
because the edges are rounded.

How can I beat this? Thanks. Diana

Does your image have a white border? Try just doing an Insert > Picture >
Picture from File and select the image file. There are handles that show up
around a selected objects. Is there white space between the handles and the
picture? If so, you image has a white frame around it. You'll need to open the
file in an image editor and crop the white out of it.

I didn't think it did, but it's a good suggestion. I tried with another
image - was playing with a layout ... wasn't expecting it to work ... was
checking something else ... lo and behold ... it worked, so you are probably
right.
