Often I have a formula or text that I want to copy down a sheet for mulitple
rows.
Generally, I have been dragging the formula down the page. However this
gets annoying if I have 13,000 rows of data.

For example, if I enter "AA" in cell K40 and want it to appear in rows
K40:K900 what is the easiest way to do this with text or formula?

Hi

Tyep your figure/text into the cell, select the cell (K40) and in the cell
box (to the left of the formula bar) where it says K40, add :K13000 - so
that the result is K40:K13000. This will select your cells and you can then
use Edit/Fill/Down.

Hope this helps.
Andy.

Assume column A has 20,000 rows of data and column B is calculating the same
formula for all those rows in column A.

Select cell A1, then hit CTRL+down arrow to go to A20000. Navigate to
B20001 and put a period in that cell. Hit CTRL + up arrow to go to cell B1.
Enter your formula in B1. Select B1, then SHIFT + CTRL + Down arrow. Then
Ctrl+D to fill down.

Practice that and it will take you all of 5 seconds to set up. Then set in
front of your boss, do that, and get a raise.

In your scenario, with data *already* populating A1:A20000,
How about impressing your boss by entering your formula in B1,
And then JUST simply *double* click the fill handle of B1.

However, if there's *no* adjacent data or values to use as a ruler,

Enter formula or text in B1,
Click in the name box (left of the formula bar),
Type in B20000,
Hold down <Shift> and hit <Enter>,
Hit <F2>,
Then <Ctrl> <Enter>
And you're done!
