Hi all!

I'm having trouble searching for files and folders in my
comp. I type down a part of the filename with an asterisk
(*) before and after and point towards my network drive to
search there. I know that the file is there, but it still
returns 0 results. Does anyone know why this is
happening???

Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Stella

Stella,
Does the Search include the subdirectories as well? You can check Search
function against any file you easily see on that drive. But most probably,
the file is not there.

Yes, it does. I double checked, even triple checked, and
the file is there...

EXAMPLE: The file name is "Master List of Funds.xls" saved
on my network drive.

I type in "*Master*" in the search box and point towards
the network drive, and still it gives no results. Truth
is, i tried multiple times, and I think2 or 3 times, it
worked, and I try again, and then it doesnt, yet I didn't
change anything. Is this some kind of a bug?

Can it find just .xls files? Or Master?
If you have Office, then repair it. Run 'sfc /scannow' to fix Windows
itself.
