Files won't write to CD burner & I can't delete from temporary eit

Files won't write to CD burner & I can't delete from temporary either. The
name is too long, and I can't delete or rename. Temporary won't let me
delete either, it is just in CD files to be written and I can't get rid of it.

Went to the directory in DOS and found the truncated name, but can't rename,
remove or delete.

These are work perfect files

Tried It and it did not work. A system says the name is invalid. a name and
a ~1.
True the path and the file name is long. Interestingly, WordPerfect 12.0
brings it right up. Perhaps XP SP2 can't handle this?

What happens in WordPerfect when you right click on the file and choose
Delete?

CDDear Ron, you wrote, "What happens in WordPerfect when you right click on
the file and choose. ANSWER 11-11-04: WordPerfect 12.0 calls up the files
without a problem. It also renames the files in its "Open file" panel. Also
windows exployer can ename the file as well. Note that these are in the
regular user directories. The files I can't get rid of, and can't write,
rename or delete, are in the system directory:

c:\Documents and Settings\thomp.laptop\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\CD Burning\ and then some of my directories.
I accept the fact that I will have to rename some of my files, and copy them
to the CD (I use Drop/Drag 4) and they work OK. But XP says in its balloon
that I have these other files to copy. When I try it, it gives me an error
message and says to delete or save, and try them both and get error messages
about the name/path, so it is one of those. When I try to delete or rename
in the system directory, it will not allow it, or I just get another error
message.

Thanks
