Files Switched over 1 minor problem

Ok Here's where I am now. I have gone to the new computer running win xp
media centre. All access files have been exported off the old system and
imported into the new system (using Access 97) Everything Transferred fine
However The main Page which links to the rest of the databasa is not valid.
It is still trying to read the file off the C: of the other computer, this
does not let me browse to change the directory: Any ideas as to where or how
I would change this or alter it?

Hi Rookie

It sounds like your database has linked tables. The path to the other
database that contains these tables is stored in your database, so if the
location moves it needs to be refreshed. The easiest way to do this
manually is with the "Linked Table Manager", available under Tools or
Add-Ins, depending on what version you are using.

Thanks for your reply This does help can you tell me,

It states the path to c/Bakersdata.mdb is invalid, Can I simply Copy the
directory from Windows Explorer and Move it over to the new computer??? Would
this work any easier. I have never worked with access before today and find
it an interesting but difficult program.

Hi Rookie

I assume that Bakersdata.mdb has been copies to your new computer. If not,
then you must do that first.

Then open the Linked Table Manager, click "Select All" and "Always prompt
for a new location", and then "OK".

A dialog box will open, saying "Select New Location or <table name>".
Browse to the folder containing Bakersdata.mdb, select that file, and click
"Open". All the links to external tables should be refreshed.
