When my mother created a new folder in her web, it along with her index file and a lot of other files disappeared from her webs folder. Now, if you recreate an index page and try to save it, it says that there is already one there(in my documents/my web and it asks if you want to replace it. If you say yes, and it saves over it, even if you publish to web, it won't show the changes. Help!!!!!!!! My mother is about ready to pull both of our heads bald. Thanks

make sure the index page is in the root folder and hasn't moved to another folder by accident. sounds like you may have misplaced them during the creation of the new folder.

also make sure you have Hidden Files enabled so you can see all the file folders...Tools/WebSettings/Advanced...View Hidden blah blah blah.. you'll probably find it then

have you published it to http yet?

It says that the file is where it is supposed to be, but you can't see it and I have made all files visible. If I go to my recent files, I can open up index. If I save it, and publish to web, it doesn't make the changes. There are a lot of other files that are missing and doing the same thing. They are there but they don't show up..... Thanks for your suggestions. If the site wasn't so large, we would trash it and start over.

When you say; 'it says the file is where it is supposed to be, but you can't see it..." what do you mean?

If you can, run through the steps you took to create the web.
Did you actually create the web or are you only working with loose pages?
When you are working on it locally it's important that you *Open Web* to work on it.

Is it up online yet? If so post the url.

If you view (NOT publish) the site using WS_FTP or a similar program,
NOT the FrontPage FTP publish procedure, can you see the files?

Check for mismatched extensions, like .htm versus .html
