I'm running Win2k SP4 and I have a 33GB partition which has about 24 GB
of files.

Windows sees that the files are there when I go to My Computer/Manage,
but they won't appear in Explorer. I tried to defrag the partition to
see what that will do and Defrag was extremely slow during the analysis,
but when it finally finished the analysis, it displayed the files that I
know are there.

This partition was shared across a home network and my wife deleted a
file earlier in the day on this partition before I noticed this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any help or guidance.

hmmmm, after restarting the computer a few times running different
diagnostics, Win2K indicated that there was an error with that partition
during boot and ran scan disc. Apparently there were a few bad sectors
on that partition. Looks like I have a disc on it's way to the dustbin.
:-(
