Files and Folders show 0 results

When I do a search in Windows XP, most of the time I post
*.extension and I choose "My Computer". However, there
have been several times in the past week where it has
shown 0 results.

What is wrong with files and folders?

How can I correct it?
 
When you do a files or folders search, your file extensions should b
limited to three (3) letters, i.e. Bruce.txt or *.txt and the "Look In
should be local harddrive(C). Try again.
